New York July NYC Meet-up?

Got there late, but still got valuable informations from you all, as usual! Thanks!

By the way, the lab I go to told me that they will have to print all 72 shots from the Olympus Pen (original)individually. So I guess this round I won't get to see the fun split-screen effect. Anyhow, this afternoon I'll find out if the little camera can do big things....

hey, sorry to have missed out again! it's been awhile since i've met up with you guys. nice looking polaroids, christian.

HLing, i didn't know bill cunningham shoots an olympus pen as well?! hopefully i'll be able to check out your pen sometime soon. they're a whole lot of fun to use! yeah, it's probably difficult to find a place that will print the double frames together, though i would think you should be able to find something in nyc... i've only been getting them developed and scanning them myself, so i have no experience with prints, unfortunately.

To Barret and all,
It's been hectic since we all last met. I've just posted the pictures to the 4th swim event to my facebook. It's my stubborness and frugality that makes me scan the positives instead of the negatives, but though it takes longer, it's closer to what I see. The Brooklyn Bridge Swim in fact had some pictures taken with the Olympus Pen as well.

Here are the pictures from the July NYC meet-up and from the first color roll I've tested in that camera:

Slowbicycle, I think in the Bill Cunningham documentary it was mentioned, but I forget how now, but something about how you get twice as many shots. I liked his way of thinking :). At first I was bummed that the lab won't print 2 on one, but now, seeing how the pictures turn out, I'm happy that I can save $3 and get twice as many prints! It really works well in these swim events where there can easily be 350+ participants, each deserving some coverage.

I really like the close ups from the pen. Who would have guessed? I had one of these years ago. I clearly didn't give it enough credit, and sold it.

HLing, yeah i gotta say you really knocked it out of the park! those are some great shots from the pen. a lot of character and looks like those prints sure worked out! enjoy that gem of a camera.
as an aside, you didn't happen to pick up your pen from adorama? i know there was one with the 28/3.5 a while back, but know it's gone...
looks like they have a "super rare" 60/1.5 for the pen f listed right now for the "super luxurious" price of $749...just putting it out there, since there's no way i can afford that, haha.

Thanks for the kind words, you guys!

CNNY, which Pen did you have that you sold? If I had PayPal I would probably get this one right now: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Olympus-35-S...868405038?pt=Film_Cameras&hash=item3a68ec132e

Slowbicycle, it was one of the 2.8 mm/3.5 from Adorama. It was by coincident I got it on the Sunday that it'd just became available.
I had to get it serviced by Essex Camera in NJ though.

I'm glad the $749 lens wouldn't work with my cameras...sounds like a beauty!
