Many of them alike

How about dedicating just a single one of these
to the ACT of photography?

The last Saturday of June,
From dusk till dawn,
Instead of reading, writing, & talking about photography,
Just going out and SHOOT,
All day long
Be productive in the real sense of the word

How about that,
Can we do that?

Wouldn't a day that is coming up sooner be a better day? Like Oct 28th 2006 - Shoot all day day? Hard to get ppl excited about a day that is 8 months in the future...

Man, that's in 2.5 weeks! People will need more time to prepare for that, planning wise. It will be over before most of us will even know about it.

I chose this date because it is so shortly after Summer Solstice, which is (at least on the northern hemisphere) the longest day of the year.

If you're going to make a book from it, or a show, or anything like that... doing it on the equinox sounds a lot better marketing-wise than the day after, or a weekend where everyone chooses a day instead of all on the same day.

I'm probably in if it's on the equinox. Good idea.

I can't play june 30th... and I doubt any students can... we'll either be partying, drunk or at a festival. In my case all three.

- a book, maybe at a better lulu equivalent
- a show with real prints, galleries love this kind of projects
- a web gallery / exhibition
- a magnum-in-motion-esque slideshow with audio, images and text

or a combination...

I like books and they go well with an exhib.
A real print exhib sounds good. Maybe a traveling exhib?
Afterwards, a magnum-in-motion-type web exhib can be offered. 🙂

Both, really.
I like the idea of a shoot-all-day day and turning it into something substantial like an exhibition and an accompanying book.

So how about March 24-25, 2007?

And a spin-off in the form of a (lulu or whatever) book, a show, a (web) gallery / exhibition, or whatever idea may popup, is something I would really look forward to.
