The magazine launch was for "Masthead." Open bar, loud music, and literally wallpapered photography from a production company that evolved into a zine.
My workbook is a work in progress, and the latest development is I want to intergrate a clam-shell case as a cover, and perhaps a handle salvaged from an electronic piece of equipment or guitar amp mounted along my spine so I can carry the book around like a elongated briefcase.
The top clam-shell cover would recess the back cover that would be flat. The design would display an offset to the front and rear hinges.
This design also replaces the archival boxes I buy that are rather costly (about $100.00). I can see this design carrying over into limited edition folios/colections that I think will result from this workbook and future editing.
So an unintended consequence is this project is moving my work forward. I am basically making self contained displays of my work that exhibit a love and passion. Perhaps not cost effective to sell, but after all these decades of just being a guy with a ponytail I'm alright with that.
MAGGIE CAMERA UPDATE: I'm a really good salesman and a good fisherman. Last night I set the hook and offered my CL to Maggie, pitching it as being smaller than a "Q" and secondly as being a stripped down less complicated camera.
I unmounted the 50 Lux-R and left the stack of Leica L-M and Novaflex F-M adapters mounted to the body to replicate the size and weight of a 23 Cron-TL (35mm FOV) autofocus lens.
I repeated, "Look how small and light this camera is," like I once said in the Leica Store in SoHo once before, but this time I was engaged and not disregarded. LOL.
So now I say you should check out the "Q" and then you will see that the "Q" has a lot more features and is a more complicated camera. I indicated that there are only three buttons, two knobs, and the shutter release.
I mentioned the head and shoulder portraits I did of Bob that she loves, and that for 28mm FOV and 50mm FOV it is a matter of taking a step back or a step forward when shooting a 35mm FOV.
Someone get the gaff. LOL. So now we are going Saturday so we have mucho time to make this decision. All she needs is to buy the 23 Cron-TL which she will use without the Leica grip I bought for use with my SLR glass. I say about near the same weight as her small version I-phone.
This will come in handy because later in June she will be heading to California, then to Vancouver, then to Italy hopping cities alone without me without intermediate stops coming home. Also is a trip to D.C. for a few days.
