No kidding! As of this post the bid is under $150 with 19.5 hours to go. I've seen that filter alone sell for nearly half that much. Guesses on final high bid? Here is an apparently nice one coming up: 110343266887
Including what looks like a rare original 40mm filter.

Look at it now. They are getting more expensive. Not a sleeper anymore

That's actually not the original Canon filter. Still, it's an elusive 40mm...

A Canon IVSB2 with 50/1.5 sold today on eBay for $406. I threw a bid on it for entertainment value. In any case the combo looked to be in good shape, and the body is one of the rarer permutations of the Canon IV series. Actually was more interested in the body than the lens. Maybe I should have bid higher

uh...hows about selling a couple of them j-3's to those whom might get use outta them?
^ I agree. An un-molested example is a fine thing. Hits far above it's weight, IMHO.
People deserve to use these lenses. I'd hate to think of a handful hitting the trash one day because the guy at the local photo shop claims "they aren't worth much."

Well, after all the Canon is the best-built of the fast screw-mount lenses. BTW - did you see what that LTM Tokyo Nikkor S.C went for? All the more reason to look for a nice J-3.

Wahoo, I'm interested in a J3. Would have sent you a PM but your settings do not allow so. Therefore, this way. PM welcome, if you fancy.

Yes I saw that and can't believe that it went for that! The 85/2 is one of my favorites - I would have bid on that one as well, but I figured I already have one so why? D'oh!John, look at this one on the other hand: 110343264073

CLE-RF, I must have give the wrong impression because although I do have few J3's at the moment non are for sale, of course situations can change and under these circumstances I would of couse contact you, once again, thanks for your interest.
My sincere apologies if my earlier post was misleading.

Dammit! That looks shweeeeet. I'm sure my bidding would have only raised the price sold at, though.... (he reasoned).
