Well I just looked at my first roll taken with my new (to me) Kiev 4m, with the Helios. I shot one roll of Neopan 1600, and I''m in love with this camera. I do most of my work with a 50mm or a 135mm so obviously a jupiter 11 is next on my list. I had a great experience with a couple of russian sellers in the past, and a couple not so great. My great expereince sellers don't seem to be offering j-11's right now 😡 so does anyone know a good ebay seller/ or other source wiht one of these. I"ve already ordered a second body, witha good 135 for this I might abandon my slr entirely.

The Jupiter 11 is a great lens. If you're thinking of doing much with it, I'd suggest going with Fedka. He has it listed for $69, which is higher than most of the ebay prices. However, he's fantastic to work with and it will be as described. http://www.fedka.com/catalog/

If you like 50s, be sure to check out a Jupiter 8 sometime. It's a wonderful lens as well.

Enjoy your lens, its an underated classic.

One tip - the RF patch in the Kiev 4 can be used as a finder. The FOV is actually a few degrees larger (it's about the equivalent of 200mm or so) but it will work as a way to frame the image for the 135. Try it out for yourself.

I see why everyone loves Fedka. Ordered lens this morning, and it has already shiped. Can't wait to get it.

Good news about the Rf patch. My one worryha sbeen taking the time to focus, and compose using seperate windows. sometimes that's made me miss a great shot with my Moskva 5 (not too foten though or I wouldn't have bought a second Moskva). Now I just have to wait (waiting is hard).

Well the Lens arrived yesterday, looks beautiful. I've run a roll through with it, and I can't wait to get the results. I"ll have plenty of time to play with it, as I had to quit my job yesterday 🙁

Ouch, sorry to hear about the job. Hope the lens works well for you and I'm looking forward to seeing what you get with it.

Thanks,
I can't wait to get the negs back! Yeah the job thing is a bit of a blow. I really liked my job photographing small children for a living was wonderful, but I was being asked to do some definately unethical, and not really legal things. Came right out of the blue.
