Jupiter 12 and Minolta CLE

papaki,

watch my 3 Jupiter-12 galleries on Flickr from many different authors; most of the pictures are from this lens on Leicas (M or ltm)
My 1986 LZOS lens focus perfectly on my CLE with any adapter, cheap noname or good ones, no difference.
The focus problem with my 1956 KMZ lens is because something else: added shims that must be removed, improper reassembly or both.

A very good clean J-12 can be found for $75 to $100. It is very sharp and can produce wonderful images.
I still think is a very good 35/2.8 that is also light, small and very cheap.

In my RFF gallery I have some shots with this lens, both the 80s LZOS and the 50s KMZ on a CLE.
My photographs are very modest (and most of them tests) but you can see that the lens is sharp and has interesting OOF character (to my eyes)
But the 3 Flickr galleries I made show great photographs on many bw and color films and how good this lens can be:

Jupiter-12 ~ Юпитер-12 (I) : http://flic.kr/y/G9Nya7
Jupiter-12 ~ Юпитер-12 (II) : http://flic.kr/y/HSviW3
Jupiter-12 ~ Юпитер-12 (III) : http://flic.kr/y/2hDgxaD

so I'd say if you like the images this lens can produce try to get a clean one. Most of them are good from what I read/see.
Specimens from 75xxx onwards are usually less problematic and are better coated.
