Ok, so I was looking for a M39/LTM Jupiter-8 for my friend. I see a lot of them on eBay. Is there a better place to get them from? Any reliable eBay sellers?

Regards,

They come up here at RFF and some of the other forums, such as nelsonfoto.com. Try to buy one from someone that has used it and can vouch for it.

I would be patient and check the RFF classifieds. They pop up from time to time, and the benefit of buying one from somewhere here is that you can ask to see pictures that were taken with it, which is important so you know that you are getting a good one. Buying a J8 is a bit of a crapshoot, with quality largely depending on how hung over the workers were the day a particular example was built.

I guess it's my lucky day. I put an ad in the WTB a while ago and someone just offered me one! Thanks for your replies.

I have one I've been meaning to part with, but I haven't used it. And that doesn't mean I have and it's ****, it means that the camera that was bought attached to it was ****.

From another RFF member it's pretty much certain to be good.

It's hard to let go of the g00d ones though... You would have to pry my KMZ j3 out of my coLd dead hands...

It's like there are enough mediocre ones around... that most haven't experienced quality.
