Just being curious

Condition is of course king.

In user condition they can be found around $900, but in any grade above that they shoot right up to around $1200 or more.

I held a gorgeous one in my hands a couple months ago in a city far away. They were asking $1250. I should have got it.....

It was fresh from CLA.

It sold the week after I returned home.

The one that is on consignment sounds fine, the viewfinder is nice and clear. The only thing holding me back is a paycheque or in my case that lack there of. I really hate seeing all this nice stuff on the market for cheap when I am unemployed. Worst case I would go for the Voightlander R they have in the case next to it.

Hi Bill,
I am thinking of getting rid of my well used but not abused M4. It is so well used that the chrome under the wind lever is well worn. However, it looks as though it has been looked after as there are no dings or dents. Everything seems to work well. I would be looking for about $815USD or $900CAD including shipping. If you are interested, send me a PM.

My sense locally is that prices are softening up a little for bodies in less than collector-perfect condition; one local shop had an M4-2 with a clunky sounding shutter for $650 and an M4-P that seemed slightly better for $575. Both had a fair amount of cosmetic wear and the M4-2's pressure plate had a strange 'butterfly' wear pattern on it.
Another shop showed a very, very nice M4 with minimum wear for around $1200. Before anyone asks, only the M4-2 is left at this point. The others sold quickly.
My overall feeling is that savvy traders are monitoring their stock of used film bodies very closely and are trying to keep them moving. It would be interesting to hear if this is the case elsewhere. Lens prices don't seem to be changing much at all.
