The first M is a special camera. I can't let go of mine even though its worn and only partially functioning. It's seen more use lately than the other.
Exactly. My M3 was my first M and though it gets less use than my M6, I could never sell it. Precious is right!
Enjoy your new to you M3.

A few shots of the camera. It's gt a roll of ektachrome in it, and is going with me to KY next week. See how she does.
A bit of brassing here and there, but not bad. I got it for $575 for the body, $275 for the lens with hood, caps and B&W filter. The focus is a bit stiff on the lens, but I'm hoping it will loosen up with use.

Funnily enough, I didn't feel that way, despite being more than averagely sentimental. I sold my first M years ago. Then again (a) it was an M3 and I like 35mm and (b) I'd already had most pre-M Leicas: A, I, II, III, IIIa, IIIb, IIIc, IIIf. I still have my first Leica, the IIIa.
Cheers,
R.

One of the first shots... Will post more as I get them scanned.
with the collapsible summicron wide open. Need to work on the scanning technique a bit.

Excellent shot. I still can't believe I sold my collapsible Summicron.
