Just got a Fuji GW690iii

... and it has a film advance lever that has been repaired with epoxy.

It looks not bad, but I want to take the lever off, and find that the screw-on cap is really really tight. I can't get it off, using a rubber cork.

For those who have experience in tearing down a Fuji GW690III:
- is that cap left or right hand threaded?
- is it normally that tight?

Mine, a '1' version, is standard threaded- counter-clockwise to remove.

If the lever was epoxied, I wonder if epoxy got onto the retaining screw.

I believe that there might be just enough of a flat on the sides of the knob to get a grip with pliers? It can get ugly with scratches and such, though.

Any reason to break it all open now? Do you have a replacement lever to put in?
 
I got it.

I dripped some oil into the slot between the lever and cap, let it soak in over dinner and some brute force with the rubber stopper got it off.

I sanded the epoxy smooth; it looks a lot nicer now.
