Hi,
Would you hold on to your M8 and use it after your purchase of an M9? If yes then what lenses would you use it with.

I would keep it as a backup. I've been very pleased with my M8s and it will make a terrific complement ot the M9.

Actually I just bought a new lens for my M8. As it has been degraded to second camera by the M9, it has a function as pre-scratched camera to be dropped into my pocket, left on the floor of the car, etc. I got a Color-Skopar 2.5/35 PII for it as a small lens.

Not sure. I thought so, but the full-frame, no-crop M9 makes me lean towards the MP as the ideal second camera.

Keeping the M8
Keeping the M8
I've kept mine. The results have not degraded, the performance is the same, and as has been mentioned the upside of trading or selling it off is not enough to compensate for the loss of a really good digital backup.
My 35mm Summicron ASPH lives on the M8. With IR cut filter, of course.
Wish I could still use film professionally, in some ways, but the M8 and especially the M9 files are making me forget why I like film...

That is exactly why I've hung on to my Color-Skopar 35/2.5 M. My 35 Summicron goes on the M9… whenever my name comes up on the list. Besides, the 35/2.5 is a damn good lens!
