Does anyone know much about this lens ? it has a constant maximum aperture and was made by Komine for Vivitar in the very early 80s. I won one on ebay and it seems that it may have had a short production life. I am waiting for delivery possibly today. Thanks for any info you may have.

As most of 2X zooms (and I assume 35-70 range is hard to screw up, like most of 45-50mm lenses are above average) it has to be decent if not great. Constant aperture (good for Av, Tv and M use) usually says it's parfocal design - useful attribute, especially with WA zooms.

My best friend has one in Nikon mount and it is a fine performer. I've had the chance to use it a bit and was surprised by the quality, but then again, these days I'm surprised more and more by the image and build quality of many third party lenses.

Thanks Phil. The Komine build quality should be solid enough. I bought it to use with my FM2n so the constant aperture is my main concern as is the fast ish f3.5. All in all it should fit the bill.
