Enjoy! :) Having had the book(s) for a couple weeks now I do think his early work is the strongest; the Brooklyn gang, E. 100th St, the UK in the 60's.

The first edition is already out of print at the publishers, next printing is supposedly September. Amazon still has it in stock but they're charging extra for shipping - it weighs 22 lbs!

The small gallery is named Kominek in Berlin. They have mostly books by Scandinavian and Baltic photographers.

The big online dealer is.... I'm not sure if I can name it, because there were legal issues in a German forum where a dealer sued the admin because of bad propaganda against the dealer.

Thank you for the information, sorry for the late reply. Anyway do you get the Jason Eskenazi book in Europe?

BTW just got the new Trent Parke book, its interesting little book.

Thanks for that, I had not thought to look.
September is not too bad, especially if they honour the £84 it was when I placed my order, list £158. ;)

I'm sure Amazon will honor it. You might get bombarded with options to drop the order if the release date extends, but if you keep the order going they will honor your buying price. I pre-ordered mine last October for a very low price from Amazon US along with free shipping. It was delivered a couple weeks ago as ordered. :)

Another Julius Shulman: Modernism Rediscovered. I was surprised how cheap it was. And - as to be expected - it's pretty great.

The order stays :)

I do keep a batch in my pending list that I feel I may want to order but haven't yet and it alway surprises me how they,Amazon, move the price up and down, sometimes by only a very small amount. The Davidson is quoted at £90.49, still a good deal, today.

How do you like Beat Memories? I skimmed it a few times, and even though I'm a huge Kerouac / Ginsberg / Burroughs fan I have to say it wasn't enough to really like the book.

I love reading this thread and all the cool books people are getting, my copy of Friedlanders "Like a One-Eyed CAt" should arrive tomorrow.

And though they are not technically books, I thumbed thru the Aperture publication today (its certainly priced like a book though!), and it had a copy interesting articles on Michael Lesy (I'm a fan of his and have 3 of his books) and Diane Arbus with a few photos of hers that are underdiscovered .........FWIW

Humm, I also have bought "On photography" by Susan Sontag :)

I never bought this book, b/c I had read so many xerox copies of several of its essays in a foto class, that I didnt feel the need to own it. However, it is critical reading for the foto-minded, and took me places I had never been before ......

Currently reading 'On Photography' By Sontag.
Have Leica Advanced M School by Gunter Osterloh in the mail somewhere.........

Nachtwey is great. Inferno is a difficult book. Couldn't look away until I was through with it when I first received it. Can't make myself look at it again. The photography is outstanding. The subject is incredibly painful.
