Anybody has experience using Leica adapter with helicoid for Fuji X?
How well does it work?
This maybe the ticket to avoid having to use SLR lens and still get closer focus.

Hello
I have tried the Hawk helicoid II
adapter on x-e1
Pretty neat, very cool with C Sonnar 50 1.5.
Although my fav adapted lens at the moment
is the Pen F 25mm on x-e1

Can you give us more info about Pen F 25mm (e.g. sample images, personal feedback etc) ?

I have one for my Nex-7. It works very well.

Just make sure you get one with a lock -HAWK (later models) or otherwise!

Jeff, could you please recommend one? Price seems to be anywhere from $40 - $200.

Well, to my knowledge (Nex experience), HAWK is the originator of the helicoid adapter. I have no idea who may have picked up on the concept and might make cheaper (less expensive) versions. I am sure there must be a few by now!
Personally, I have the original, nonlocking variant and it is well made and functions as advertised. It was expensive, being closer to the $200 mark as I recall. As mentioned though: get a later one that locks. I would if I was purchasing one today. For the static adapters, I have been happy with Rainbow Imaging. Perhaps they make a helicoid version now?

Hello
I have the 25/4 and the 25/2.8.
The f4 is nicer to use as it is much more
Compact.
Resolution isn't bad, but not razor sharp.
Nice gentle contrast.
Will put some images up when I have time . . .

I have a hypothesis that such an adapter might actually improve corner performance with wide lens in M mount:
1. you set the lens to f/8
2. you shift it further from the sensor
3. lens is further from the sensor => better corner performance due to less steep angle of light rays at the corners of the frame
4. lens has massive dof => no problem that infinity focus isn't available any more
Can someone with such an adapter confirm or disprove it ?
