Have you ever tried any Hexanon lens on your M body? Any problem focusing?
This weekend, my friend came over from Hong Kong to visit me with his M7 and two M-Hexanon Lens, a Hexanon 1.2 50mm (limited) and a 28/2.8. I was absolutely stunned by the craftsmanship by its titanium finish. The focus and aperture rings are smooth. Never seen any pictures so far from his camera, but my friend told me that this lens is very sharp with smoother bokeh comparing to Noctilux.
I have a Noctilux, I want to see if anyone also has played with this lens before or compare it with Noctilux. It is probably a good alternative for Noctilux, because Noctilux costs at least twice as much.
I had a M-hexanon 28 before. I am convinced that I like the Leica elmarit more. Now, Noctilux F1.0 vs Hexanon F1.2 is going to be my next verdict.

My first 35mm lens was a Hexanon 35/f2. It's the size of a Summilux, and as fast as a Summicron, but it's a Hexanon, and it works incredibly well in my M6TTL bodies.

The one and only thing it has is that it will not focus all the way to infinity. In other words, the focus throw stops a hairline before making a complete match in the RF patch. Then, again, I've done a lot of landscapish stuff and never did I get anything out of focus.

Are you in the market for one? The 50mm your friend has is the best ever made by Konica... and they ain't cheap either. 😉

My Hexanon 35mm f2 is excellent on my M8.

... here at f2 and minimum distance.

If you search the archives there will be many threads on this issue.

FWIW, I have never had a problem using my 50/2 M-Hexanon on my Leica bodies (including the ultra-picky M8) or any of my Leica or other non-Leica M or LTM lenses on my Hexar RF.

I have problem with hexanon 90mm at infinity focussing on M and rd1 bodies. Focusing is too stiff and grip area is too small. When I look at Summarit new f2.5 lens body, this looks like to be a good replacement or complement. I doubt if I'd like part with that good optics of hexanon. woow ernostar yeah 😀

Then there's something very wrong with your lens. The Hexanon 90 is a very light focusing lens in original condition.

interesting. maybe some dirt got into the lens. I bought this as used though it looked like it was barely used. Maybe the lubricant hardened then. I don't know it and will check with DAG some day later.

I use Hexanon-M lenses on my MP, M6 & M2 with no problems...except when used on the M2 I occasionally go backwards in time.

Just checked the Hexanon 50mm 1.2 on ebay. There was one sold for 2100 few days ago, lens ONLY, but I believe this lens is normally came with a limited edition RF body.
Anyone has experienced with this lens?? or compared hexanon 50 with Noctilux? This lens is absolutely high quality.
