I have an opportunity to buy a working CL with 40mm lens for $600. Do I need this camera? No! Do I want it? Yes! Is it a distraction from the crappy things going on in my life right now? Yes! HELP! Any Cl users out there?
(I already have an M6) :bang:

I can't believe you're even wondering! Seriously, the price seems about right, it's a nice little camera (and lens), and you want it. End of discussion. Want = need.

I just got one myself, and I already have several M-mount rangefinders.

I also picked one up recently.. it's a very fun little camera.. I have an M3, but I wanted a smaller m-mount body with a built-in meter.. the CL was an obvious choice, and I have to admit it's getting more use than the M3 these days

check to see if the meter is accurate before buying.. otherwise, $600 is a pretty good price

I think 600 is a good price if and only if you can be absolutely certain that everything's working and the glass is perfect.

I don't like impulse buys, but when the opportunity arises, and you know what you're in for, seize it.

I try not to be negative but.....A few weeks ago I tried to sell a CL that was CLA'd by DAG five months ago, no scratches, converted to modern current, with perfect cron 40. I started at 700 and went to 600 (you can look at my posts) and wound up trading it to a lady of our forum. I tried twice a few weeks apart and no takers. At the same time, there were a couple more offered for 450 each and I think they both had lenses, also. I think they finally sold or traded. The Cl's a nice kit but be sure it's what you want. There are some distracting features. Lack of resale value is one.

butch, I think you just hit a point where there was a glut of CL's for sale.. but it's true that prices can fluctuate a bit.. but I've seen the same thing with M3's.. some days they'll sell for $800 and other days the same gear will sell for $600
