Has anyone used a Voigtlander Nokton classic 40mm F1.4 on a CL. Also are there any faster 40mm lenses out there, old or new, that can fit on the CL.I only ask,as with my M4-P, I am used to my Sonnar f1.5.Hence I fancied a bit of a faster lense on my CL.Any ideas??

I use this combination - CL and Nokton classic 40mm F1.4. It's great. There are no faster 40s to my knowledge.

I use the CV 1.4 Nokton Classic on my CL. There are no problems using it. I believe the Nokton is the fastest 40mm M mount lens ever made.

Cool.I may have to get one then.I was a bit apprehensive as so many people on the internet give the CL bad reviews with any lense apart from the two lenses made for the body. Many people have said it can't cope with a faster lense than an f2.
I needed some user input, and you gave me just what I need.Cheers.

Biggest rubbish I've ever heard. My Cl works perfectly with every lens I stick on it. Granted, I don't have any f1.4 or wider lenses but I doubt there'll be many problems, even wide open. Take that plunge and enjoy that CL!

Well,

You can expect focusing problems with fast lenses like the Noctilux, 90/2.8, 90/2 or 75/1.4. I'm not sure on the 50/1.4. Of course no problem when focused on infinity.

My set-up is the same. The only thing you have to watch is that while the lens will
focus to 0.7m the rangefinder is only coupled to 0.9m. Aside from that, it's a killer
combo, and it is easy to get sharp results wide open at 0.9m. REALLY sharp.
