Hey guys, I purchased a soft shutter release button for my girlfriend's CL and when I put it on, the shutter would not fire. I thought it was possible that the release button collar was maybe not screwed all the way down and blocking the shutter button from being pressed lower, as recently it came loose and We lost the collar and shutter button.

Don at DAG camera repair(recommended by some members here, thanks) sent me a new one, and it's worked fine since then.

Today, when I went to adjust it, I took off the collar and shutter button. I accidentally pushed the shutter pin down and it got jammed, at an angle.

I took off the top plate and got the pin unjammed, but the button is not pressable. It won't move at all. I'm thinking maybe the pin got pushed down into the spring and got stuck? Not sure. The film advance lever won't cock, I'm assuming it's because the shutter is already cocked and ready to fire. But I have no way to fire it, cause the button is stuck.

Any idea how to fix this? Does this sound familiar to anyone? If it comes down to it I'll take it to our local repair guy, but I figured it's a simple enough repair I could do myself.

Thanks guys, and Merry Christmas!

Ruben

Also, I noted when I took off the shutter button, the pin that it sits on top has a groove where the film advance lever is supposed to fit. I saw that the film advance arm was not able to move because it was getting stuck on the pin, not fitting into the groove. Either the pin is too low, because of me pressing it down and therefore not fitting in the groove, or it is too high and the lever is missing the pin. I think the main issue is fixing the alignment of that pin and where it's supposed to sit. If I can get that back to normal, it seems like it should be fine.
