I would go for the classic of the classics - an M3 with a 50mm Summicron (DR or 1st version rigid). I am not a big fan of Leica as such and of Leica lenses, but I feel these old 50mm lenses are extremely well balanced for B&W street shooting.
Here is one made with the M7 and DR Summicron on Tri X, it is erroneously tagged as developed in Prescysol, in reality this has been shot at ISO 800 and developed in diluted Acufine
In 35mm an M2 with the CV 35/1.2 Nokton will do the trick, but for this FL the Zeiss Ikon is a much better camera than any Leica ever made.
Considered it thirded - I've got an M2 and a 35 Skopar here with me in Thailand and it's a great combination (but I have been using the Skopar on an M6 too)
