I would really like to know who's making the sensor
Comes out of the same fab as the M9 sensor.

So, here is the project development plan for the M9-M
1. start with an M9
2. downgrade the finish to black chrome
3. take the sapphire LCD glass from the M9-P (but keep using the $2 LCD from a point-and-shoot)
4. don't include the Bayer filter
5. bundle some software
6. tweak the firmware a bit (remove white balance, etc.)
7. increase the price over the M9 by $1k
8. create a new part number
9. add a calfskin strap
and...Voilà! A 'new' product!
And the best part, they will sell a lot of them to people who already own essentially the same thing already...
