Leica FF Mirrorless w/ a fixed 28mm lens rumor

Yeah great!
If they then expand to a 50mm fixed version it would finally fill a place in the market that has been void.
FF fixed. It's only the Sony RX1 at the moment. I love fixed lens and leaf shutter :)

I can't wait - could be the best travel outfit ever for a 28mm shooter like me :)

Hopefully it uses the 240 sensor and has a decent focus mechanism (AF is enough, but I don't like manual focus via pixel peeping; I'm OK using an external brightline finder).

Sadly (well, not too sadly), I'll have to live with the poor man's version... Fuji X100T with the excellent WCL-X100 28mm add-on lens. :p

But I'm very much looking forward to seeing what Leica has cooked up.

FF mirrorless with UWA lens sounds promising. I have test roll of film to scan from new to me Konica-off road which is FF 28 as well :)

#5 is EVF. I don't know is it electronic or external.
Stabilisation function is handy for video.

But even if it is for real, I can't take another mortgage to have any digital Leica.

John,

This is good smut. I hope the rumor is true and the sensor has mucho mega pixels.

28 FOV is great for me.

If it only has a back screen but no VF, then I don't think it will do well.

It's rumored to have an EVF. The T and X series already only have an LCD. I can't see them adding another to the mix without it.

One can only wonder. Much like the X but with full frame and EVF...just doesn't feel like what Leica would do.

Unless it goes for something like $4,995.

John,

What is the smut on EVF'ers. I have no experience other than on video cameras.

Cal

Well, they are similar to those in video cameras Cal, but of course they are getting better and better by the year. Some are quite good these days. But you are essentially looking at a miniature TV instead of a glass VF. That said, I'm thinking an EVF would be your nightmare.

John,

Thanks for your response. You seem to be right on the edge of all the Leica smut lately.

A FF Leica with better/faster/wider lens than a Sony RX1 and a price less than twice of the Sony?!

Well, that just feels wrong... :D

Feels wrong because it wont happen. I expect a small sensor, fixed lens digital for 5000 €.
