I hope this is a forgiveable idea to post in this forum ;-)

Have been looking at the R3-M with the collapsible f2.0/50mm Classic Heliar - it comes as a kit in Australia for about $A1,600 - about $US 1,218.00

What do you guys think about the idea of using the Leica lenses on the Voigtlander?

many thanks

Ooops, here I was going to say something positive about using a 35 'cron and 90 TE on the Bessa-T, but I see that would be a bad idea. Yeah, I'll shut up about that now. 🙂

Like many others I'm sure curious about the 2.0/50 Heliar... too bad it's collapsible. Yet another way to end up with fuzzy pics, but that does stave-off yet another GAS attack!

I'm actually loving that it's collapsible...to each his/her own I suppose. I couldn't afford it, but I'd love to have one of the sets.

That old adage comes to mind "A camera is nothing but a dark box holding film" A bit dated now in the digital world, but frankly, why spend the money on a body that will not really give better results, when you can use the saved money to buy the Leica glass that will?

Glad I have still have those asbestos pants...

PS, I have the Bessa R2M and that Heliar. Frankly while the body is fine, the lens isn't worth the hype. There is a thread with some images and impressions in the CV forum.

I have used a 1957 Summicron on my Bessa R3A without a problem, and I know a fellow who has used many Leitz lenses on various Voigtlander bodies without a problem.

The price that you quote seems fairly high. Have you considered mail-ordering your camera? I might suggest the dealer Joseph Yao in Hong Kong - he has a stellar reputation. His email is: joseph@yao.com

Good luck.
