Leica M books

I have been trying to dig deeper into the Leica M system for both bodies and lenses, but found the online reviews not satisfying in terms of depth.

Are there decent books out there discussing the cameras and lenses both in version variations and performance in details? Any recommendations? Thanks!

IMO, the best reference books are

Leica An Illustrated History: Cameras
Leica An Illustrated History: Lenses

Both by James L. Lager

Erwin Puts wrote up a nice PDF document ("Leica M-Lenses - Their Soul and Secrets") with lots of performance data.
