Leica M Monochrom: best pics

Airfrogusmc... Welcome! I like your work very much. What is your technique to get the street people to have their photo taken?

Nice job!

Thanks Jim. If i'm not finding the moment and doing more of a portrait I just talk to them and ask if its OK if I take a picture and I don't pose them. For the action work I'm love'n the clean high ISO so I can hyper focus f/8, f/11 and use the good DoF scales on the lens and still have a shutter speed to stop the motion (if thats what I desire) of 1/250, 1/500...

Very nice Allen

Thanks. Heres some more if you don't mind,

Is there an argument that the Monochrome files are almost too clinical for black and white?

You can add at the look of several film types if you'd like. And if the files weren't clean they would be saying why buy the mono when you can just convert. Also the noise in the MM looks more like film grain than noise.

The engagement - MM and Leica Summilux 50 mm f/1.4 pre-asph E43 (v2). Pardon the edits...blamed on the Macbook Air 11 in screen;)

Wonderful sequence, Ashwin. You were certainly in the right place at the right time and ready to act... coincidence? It seems the last two at least must have had cooperation from the delirious couple!

Oh yes, the groom had conspired with me to secretly capture the moment from behind a curtain in the restaurant. It was a fun challenge and sweet moment. The MM proved itself worth while given the darkness and extreme contrast

Ashwin - very challenging condition and interesting assignment indeed ;-)
Well done!
The MM really opens some possibilities for RF users, that were much more difficult or even not possible before it.

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments. Dirk is correct...THe MM stretches new creative horizons for digital Leica. Here are a few from yesterday's visit to Chicago
