I like it! Very well done!
What developer did you use?
I just got my first 100ft of ultrafine xtreme 400 and so far it is great to work with. Can’t believe how flat it is, great for scanning.

HC-110 1+31, I really like this film consider how cheap it is, (I paid 34 USD for 100ft, so less that 2 dollars per roll....)

I can believe how easy and stress free the loading is now. Just line it up per the diagram and close the bottom plate and away you go. Just as easy and drama free as loading my Olympus OM.

Glad you have your M5 back. What got fixed to make loading better? A new take-up spool?

Love this One too !

Much thanks Helen

Glad you got your baby back james

Thank you Sir!
BTW Ko.Fe mentioned you in the new Voigtlander 35 f2 thread. He said something about you being able to get special pricing at downtown camera. Keep me in the loop if you are able to make any arrange something.

Thanks.
Apparently the take up spool was weak/broken since I got it, but being my first M5 thought all my loading difficulties were down to user error. Sherry installed a new spool and all is right in the world. 😀

Hm, did she source it from Leica HQ or did she had some spare parts on hand? I've sort of figured out a method that works for me, but still sometimes have mis-loads. I wonder if a new spool would solve the problem. Regardless, I chose the M5 as my entry into the world of film photography, and I don't regret the decision one bit.

She ran out of spares and had to get some from Germany. I would recommend getting a new spool if you can, loading is now fast and stress free.

Funny there was a thread here five days ago that appears to be gone. Someone said they got their m5 back in December with missing take up spool.

I know what you are insinuating and vehemently disagree.

Sherry has a very long history of working on our cameras and good reputation. I think we are lucky to have her.

I find it highly unlikely and far fetched that she stole a spool from another customer and sold it to me. She told me in mid December that she was out of spoke and had to order them from Germany. She got the spools in Mid January and sent me my camera.

Let’s just leave that thread where it belongs, in the trash, and move on with our lives.

We’re all human - I make mistakes- we all make mistakes. I’m not accusing anyone of anything but I do not like that a thread is deleted. Who deleted it, why, and how often does that happen? What if the complaintent really did send their camera in with spool and receive it back missing a spool. I don’t see how that is impossible.

I was under the impression this was a free forum but perhaps it’s sensored And far more than I would have thought.

I wasn’t insinuating intentional theft if that’s you’re saying.

Edit: also people keep a good reputation when negative criticism is kept silent. I appreciate that company and the service they perform. I have an m5 that I’m going to send sooner or later so I depend on the few m5 repairpeople. But let’s be transparent, for our own good.

Well done, especially that first shot of the backlit snow. I think the M5's spot meter is great for scenes like this.

Also, the Ultrafine Xtreme 400 looks great at 1600! What developer and times did you use? I have a bulk roll in the freezer, it may be the next film I spool.

Thanks Dourbalistar!

This is my first foray into bulk loading and my first few rolls of the Xtreme 400. I am loving it!

I developed these in D76 1+1 for 18 mins per massive dev chart.
