Has anyone experienced this?

The last thing I did was rewind a roll of film and put a new one in, and now I can't press the shutter release button. This also means that I can't forward the film to the next frame (with or without film in the camera)

I've tried all of the shutter speeds and changing the battery (which shouldn't matter).

I appreciate any help!

Try activating and releasing the rewind lever a couple times. Maybe open the bottom and jiggle the film sprocket wheel.

Otherwise, it is off to the repair tech.

I've tried it all now and nothing. The shutter button is not rotating.
I'll be calling Sherry on Monday.
Too bad I'll miss it for such good weather down here, but I still have my reliable M3 for now.
Thanks again!

It could be the shutter curtains. Though I don't advocate touching them at all, the might not have engaged all the way open or closed and just need to be moved into place. I've heard of this happening on the M2 a bit.

I have had this happen and when it did I felt it. the problem arose when I first got my M6 TTL and I rested my thumb on the rewind crank and accidentally hit the shutter which resulted in advancing the frame while the shutter was open.

I remedied the problem by jiggling the rewind crank and pressing the shutter button. It was completely okay afterwards.

Hope this helps,
