I don't know what it is about me and rare Leica bodies but I seem to stumble upon them with very little intent or effort.
So, I came across one and was curious, how rare is this beast? Is it one of those 'put it in the glass case' rare bodies or just a bit of gimmickry? What would one pay for one versus say, a regular M8?

I thought that was the panda? and the anti panda had a black dot?
I looked at three pictures and apparently I'm still confused...

I used to have one.

Same price as a regular M8. Or, if buying from someone desperately trying to be normal, perhaps a little cheaper

In other words, a hodgepodge of unmatched bits that might, or might not, be appealing to someone. Sorry, I've never been fond of this business of defining cameras by silly style details.
What such a camera is worth is what someone will pay for it. I would pay less for a non-stock camera than for a stock camera, personally. I have only rarely found customized cameras of much interest at all, unless they were produced by the manufacturer as a commemorative of some event or milestone.
