i have a favor to ask. My m9p is in the shop and I want to know something.
I have never used the image auto review, but it is something that may help with a new purpose for the camera. The camera would be set to jpg.
Q: When image review is turned on, does the image pop right up relatively "instantly" or does the file have to finish writing first? I know it takes a few seconds for the red light to stop blinking. Does the image review wait until the blinking stops before it appears?
Q: Does changing the setting to lower quality jpg speed up the display of the image in auto review? I would use just the two highest jpg settings.

Thanks

Anyone with an m9? I just want to know how quickly the image comes up on the LCD when you have auto review set to ON. Any difference in speed between the various jpg sizes?

Hi,
just tried it on my M9:

The image pop´s up immediately, while the red light bis blinking.

Iq- setting does not influence the delay.

There are only 2 jpeg- settings, by the way, fine and normal.

cheers,
smp

Think carefully about the use of jpg. The Leica jpg-engine is not known for it's superior quality (compared to let's say Olympus or Fuji).

Just turn on JPEG + raw. That way you get both. The M9's responsiveness doesn't change very much either way.

Some people love the M9 out-of-camera JPEGs, it seems, for their unique color and tonal characteristics. I always used raw files out of mine.
