Leica M9 Enhanced

Thats what my gear ends up looking like, as if its battered and from a dumpster, makes it less likely to be an 'ooo shiney' moment to certain people.

This guy lives and shoots in HK with an M9 K_iwi; dont think any extended humidity of that level is going to be an issue, especially with returning to an air-conditioned environment after shooting. I agree the tape makes the camera look like crap but I think the only people that would really take any notice are people that know what an M8/9 is to begin with.

I am from Hong Kong.

I don't think we got a that "wet" environment...

BTW, what's the brand of the waterproof tape? :p

Leica has announced the "electrical or friction tape" ala carte option. $1100 for them to tape up your M9 in this fashion. black only. colors are available for an additional $500. Wait time for this job is four months.

Whoever did the photoshopping of the M9/M2 Leicavit hybrid, forgot to brass the control knobs. Sloppy work. Caught ya red-handed.;):D

One thing I found out the hard way--gaffer tape will pull the white paint lettering right of fan M9. At least it did on mine.

I guess the good part is that it looks so raggy that a bad guy will figure it's a beater and refrain from stealing it.

Sorry to revive this thread but this taped up M9 looks cool! To each his/her own but this makes sense if you are out shooting street want to avoid attracting attention or thieves. I remember the saying, if you want to avoid having your car stolen, park it next to a much nicer/ expensive car than yours.

Correct me if I am wrong, I think Cartier-Bresson used to tape up his M3 to avoid attention.

Some of the areas here in Pohnpei, because this is a volcanic island and it rains so much it is slick all the time, would be safer for my camera and me if I taped the camera and then myself.
