This could be a nice bw street shooter if it ever gets the go-ahead - particularly with the higher res of a monochrom X sensor:

Definitely interesting. I would love to be able to sneak into dark places at night and shoot at ISO 10000 with a compact.

My dream X2 Monochrom would have Oly's fast, face-recognition focus and a high-def bw EVF (Sony's latest A99 EVF is rumoured to be 3Mp RGB).

Could be cool... if Leica starts to understand that its users want internal VFs.

I had not heard this before and it certainly sounds interesting. I have found the X1 to be pocketable, quick to use on MF scale focusing, superb with IQ and all the things that I was looking for in a digital Barnack (except for the 50mm focal length that I am used to).
With a monochrome version (and a nice Leica engraving on the top plate, I wish!), how cool is that?
