Leica Monochrom M246

Woo Hoo !

Woo Hoo !

Sold my MM9 earlier. Have been admiring the images by Vince Lupo and others for the last few weeks, and was patiently waiting in line for a 246.
None of the dealers seem to be receiving regular shipments.
Was very lucky to be one of the early ones to see the ad for a new one here today, and decided to pul the trigger !
Excitedly waiting for Friday, and the UPS delivery guy !

Not much movement here lately, no new M 246 owners in the last week or two?
New rumors about coming shipment, deliveries or other information that can keep the GAS attack at bay?

Arrived this past Thursday. Second wave.

Vince & Dante: excellent photos!

I remain patiently waiting for mine to arrive, but looking at these photos is very inspiring. :)

Dante & Vince, enough already. A voice is telling me, "Run, do not walk, from this thread."

Of course, I'm still here.

Got mine, picked up last night at the Leica store in Bellevue WA. Charging battery now and can't wait to start playing.
Was hoping that the 35 frame lines would be easier to see with glasses than they are but it is close enough.

Mine arrived last week (and I placed the order the morning that the M246 was announced). The box has a large warning page in bright orange paper to remind people to update Mac OS X to ver. 10.10.4 (released on July 1) before loading DNG files from M246s. It made me think that the slow roll-out of the M246 might have something to do with the DNG bug that Apple was working on.

Yes and no. That only applies if you're using the 'Photos' app. You can open them in PhotoShop RAW without any issues.

Yes, Vince. I don't use the Photos app and I already have 10.10.4, thanks for the heads up by folks on RFF. So, I don't have an issue with it. However, my workflow is to format SD cards after each download. The disabling auto-launch function of the Photos app is by device and by card (so long you don't reformat it). Apple's Photos app still auto-launches as it does not recognize my reformatted SD card. I was just thinking that Leica might have wanted to avoid the issue (for people like me) until Apple had a fix of the Photos app. Slow on meeting demand is a much easier PR issue than a known bug that keeps crashing someone's Mac.
