Leica Repaint - Shintaro (no reply)

This story is so incredible that it almost deserves a movie.. a story of patient wait, faith and perseverance on the one side, and of Japanese obsession for perfection - no matter how long it takes - on the other... Please let us see the wonder as soon as it's back home.

Did Shintaro explain the delay? I wonder how many other cameras are on his shelves due to lost addresses.

Incredible story, two absolute madlads involved in this deal. Patience is a virtue I guess.

Brian is right, how many other cameras are sitting on his shelves?! On the other hand, how many other people would wait patiently for years before reaching out? I bet Shintaro is happy he got rid of it after all these years.

Tks for your support and help, Shintaro replied to my FB message to him last week and mentioned to me that my camera has been shipped back to me couple of days ago also providing the tracking number. I am looking forward to see my camera at my doorway soon.

I will let you know once the camera is back after this ten years journey.

Alex

Did he explain why for such the delay?

Hi, Anyone here sent camera to Shintaro for repaint.
I have sent my M3 to him 10 years ago and still no reply from him.
Anyone got his contact information can be reaching?

Alex

Are you saying you waited 120 months for a repaint? Who are you? Zen Priest?

Almost 20 years ago I waited a year before contacting Shintaro on the status of my Nikon SP.

He Emailed me that he had lost my address and was waiting for me to contact him. Glad I waited only a year. I can believe this story- based on my own first-hand experience. Shintaro no longer does this work.
