Maybe like my camera- he separated the address from the camera, and relied on being contacted. Which I did- almost a year after sending the camera. He replied he had lost the address.

Lesson for all
Send your camera to well-established firms like Kanto Camera and be very careful to send it to individuals, even those with stellar technical skills. Unfortunately, human vanity and greed can corrupt even the best technician.

Shintaro does great work. He is probably guilty of taking on too much, and does need chasing. That's what happened to me, I have seen other threads on his delays over the years and have seen no evidence at all that he is greedy or corrupt.

I sold the M4 he repainted for me (mostly because it was too beautiful to use) and still regret it.

Great news! I met Shintaro in Tokyo when I picked up my M3 that he painted. This was back in 2000. His work was legendary, he was the first of the painters, did several for Tom A.

Tks for your support and help, Shintaro replied to my FB message to him last week and mentioned to me that my camera has been shipped back to me couple of days ago also providing the tracking number. I am looking forward to see my camera at my doorway soon.

I will let you know once the camera is back after this ten years journey.
