Regarding the flash connectors, I have a Nicca 3S which has an identical pair of connections on the front in the same position.
I believe one is for electronic flash and the other for old style bulbs that needed to reach peak output before opening the shutter.
Looks likely that someone modified the camera to flash sync in a similar way. Leicas have the little dial under their shutter speed to set delay on later Barnacks so only need a single connector on back.

Ok, checked again and it is Leica I size still. My IIf is wider, little higher and different case/shell. Not sure how did I measured yesterday, but they are different.

With the arrival of the IIIc the cameras are 2.8 mm wider and built differently.

The camera above is a post war conversion. Most post war conversions have the rangefinder of the Leica lll, much better than the rangefinder of the Leica ll because it is life-size.

It is a Leica Ia from 1930 converted to II syn in 1952.

Sometimes the synch causes shutter problems. Did you try yours?

What kind of problems do you mean? Yes, I tried it already. It is working almost great. The issue I still have - shutter button not returns to normal position after firing. Planning to disassemble the shutter once I receive new curtains.
