Leica LTM Leica Standard Conversion?

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Wait a second....I just noticed that it doesn't have strap lugs, so it's just a Russian fake.

:p

As if the flip open back wasn't a dead giveaway already.

But I like the crinkle paint. Pity it's such an obvious fake, it would have been much nicer if they left the RF on.

Funny thing was that KEH had it for the longest time, and it's about as beautiful as it can be. I had Gerry Smith at Kindermann Canada go over it, and it's weird because it's a short body with IIIf features. Plus, neither my SCNOO nor my MOOLY will work, and the body is too short for my black MOOLY-C (wouldn't that have looked awesome?!), so it is a bit of an oddball.

I saw it on their list for a while, and was working out how to tell my wife I wanted to buy it when you beat me to it :(

I have only ever seen one other like it, although there must be several around. I will just have to be patient.;)

'50s conversions. Here's mine (shown before on another thread). I also have the similar II conversion. I am in the market for a similar I conversion. I have seen these around, they have the blanked of slow speed dial, late vulcanite and the additional bottom pin. They are also sync'd (but not the 'f' dial) and retain the viewfinder. Oh yes, black of course!

There are several very tasty black conversions on the Westlicht auction site right now but they are way beyond my means...

RF Newbie, apologies for the intrusion but if you haven't yet, don't...unless your field is modern Polish or Russian repaints and conversions of Feds or Zorkis. Mind you, the 15mm Heliar is certainly worth something.

The SCNOO will work, but it is possible it needs al little bit of manual adaptation from a good repairer. The very rare SCNOO-C will not fit.
I use daily a postwar black converted II (no synch) with a SCNOO and it works like a dream. It works actually better than a Leicavit, because you can wind with several small jerks instead of one big one.

modern Polish or Russian repaints and conversions of Feds or Zorkis. lol The seller says he paid 600(for the fake) in NYC Camera shop 10yrs ago. i am into the whole shebang with the 15mm for half that (maybe).
Thanks for the help guy's, i just had no idea it was a complete fake. But WOW do they make nice fakes.

OK here is what i believe WAS a 1928 Compur Leica.
Maybe i am way off , BUT i am going on the fact that the focus ring (plate) is a duplicate of the Compur leica and not a Leica A or C. Lens has no serial. And would this be the "SharkSkin" covering ? It sure feels different than my IIIc.

I might be wrong, but weren't all the Cmpur bodies black? Also. the script for the No. text and 3 screws for the accessory shoe look a bit wrong to me.

Any experts here care to comment?

lol
come on guys
This is a conversion right ?
Not Russian i hope. Its a conversion i say...lol
its gotta be a conversion.

lol
i hope your all laughing your arses off.
Dang it. And i thought it was a Leica I turned into a chrome Leica IId.
Not possible huh ?

HAHAHAH
i can not believe it. I am still waiting for someone to say. No that's a factory upgrade.(and not from the Russian factory.)
OK i have heard that the Leica I's have been turned in for upgrades and came out a chrome II or III so how can i be sure ?

it is a soviet made camera and lens.
it will not turn into a Leitz made product no matter how much you wish it to be so.

It looks an awful lot like a Zorki 1 "conversion" to me.

Nobody in their right mind would have a compur body converted to take an I-22 :D
