^ I find the composition with the flowers showing life and vigor, next to the drunk guy in a suit.
Surly you jest maddoc. I interpret your interest in taking pictures of the unfortunate as humorous to you (and others). Besides, what does composition have to do with a picture depicting meanness on your part ? I’m exhausted of pictures taken in this manner. I realize you need to defend yourself and justify your picture however a moronic critique is no reason to reject a personal opinion.
Keep in mind critics are your friends. People who are complementary are for the most part... back stabbers.
Yes, this is how I interpreted the photo... I immediately recalled the Japanese movie "Shall We Dansu" that in part illustrates the after-hours socializing of the salary man... and how in at least some cases is done to excess. There is fine line separating photos of unfortunates taken for the purpose of showing the sensational aspect of unfortunate only on the one hand and showing them in a context on the other hand. Here in Japan a flower decoration as in the department store window has almost a spiritual aspect of the traditional Japan, a salary man in a suit on the other hand symbolizes the well-organized business structure of the modern Japanese society. A drunken Japanese salary man in a suit slumped over the guard-rail is a contrasting juxtaposition in my interpretation.
