Leica T "accidentally revealed"...

I am not in either camp, but I will not buy this camera. There is no way that this camera can be 6 times ($3000 vs. $500) better than my X-E1.

Neither am I but I thought that we`d understood by now that value for money has never been the benchmark.
That is why BW magazine in their review of the M240 today "would find it hard to recommend it as a photographic tool".

Oh dear. It's the same size as a fuji xe2. And it doesn't have a built in viewfinder. Or controls on the rear. And the kit lens is a stop slower on the wide and tele end than the fuji zoom, and it's not even particularly smaller.

It has a touch screen. How modern! How wonderful!! And the touch screen is on the rear. What more could you want?

EDIT NOTE: After writing the above, I saw the following e-mail from Sean Reid. Although I'm not currently a subscriber to his service, those who are may want to read the reports of his tests before ridiculing, or praising, the camera:

his morning I published three articles, each of them detailed and extensive, that are based on about two months of testing the new Leica T camera and lenses in the field and studio. They are:

1. A report on the Leica T running beta firmware. Many aspects are covered including side by side studio tests of file quality (at various ISO levels) from the T and the Pentax K3.

2. A report on the T Summicron 23/2.0 ASPH, running beta firmware, based on field testing and on my usual full set of studio tests.

3. A report that looks at the performance of two compact 21 mm rangefinder lenses on the Leica T as compared to the (reference standard) Ricoh GXR Mount-A12. This includes field examples as well as the expected side by side studio tests of resolution, luminance vignetting and color drift.

Yes, body shape is remarkably similar to the Samsung NX*000 series but at least Leica give you the option of a viewfinder. I wish Samsung would make a 23mm lens, my 30mm f2 is often not quite wide enouigh....

Yes, it's expensive, but look how many expensive things we have to buy - electricity, insurance - and don't have any choice about it. I hope it does well for them.
