Someone I know in the ad business passed this link along to me. I'm not sure if the story is true, but apparently a big Ad agency (S&S in NYC) did some spec work to drum up some business with Leica. They made this video -- I'm not sure where it stands now, but I've heard Leica asked them to not distribute it. I'm not sure how it got leaked -- but here it is.

I like the tagline 🙂

Sounds awfully viral video-ish. This, combined with the Leica appearance in a Super Bowl ad makes me wonder if Leica doesn't have some fresh talent in their marketing department.

Also, there's a previous thread about this ad, which I could not locate. It gets the predictable "I like it"/ "I hate it" treatment. For the record, I liked it.

The ad is inaccurate, cliched and simplistic. It also has nothing to do with Leica or the Capa estate - so expect some sort of legal action there, due to the damage being done to the Leica brand and to the value of the estate for the family.

Loved the Video... It was really well shot/produced edited, and for me at least., entertaining.. As for the rest of it..

Seems to me that, it's art and open to inturpitation.. Very cool IMO .

And I dont really saying it was a specific person using a Leica .. It's was more cinematic and artisic than just a record of who did what where..

Feel free to like it or hate the message.. I personally dont think it glorifies war in any way.. Just the opposite.. but that's just my take..

I think that Leica should be greatfull it's out there..

What's that saying...

"It dosnt matter what there saying.. as long as there talking.".

Leica Monchrome.. Didnt even, know such a camera exsisted.. 😉
