Leicas at a secondhand camera market

I'd better not say anything about that photo.... (wiping the drool off the keyboard)....

Denis

The prices are outrageous, though... 430 EUR for an Elmar 50/3.5, 450 EUR for Summitar 50/2!???

Thanks, but no thanks....

They would put m in jail for camera molestation... If I even got near that table...

I can hear it now..........................." Sir , Sir, could you please stop doing that...........Sir?Sir?

Very nice selection of Leica gear and a good place not to go if you want to stay married.

It's getting in me...
...must fight it...
...I can name all the cameras on left hand side...
...must resist...

Quite sad isn't it?

me too- M2, M3, MD-2, M5........it's an illness we have to live with 😉

Todd

There were two M3s, I saw one M2 and one M5. The ones on the right side were the II and III category, including a couple of Leica standards (sans rangefinder).

Do I pass?

Looking at photos like these ones (which prompt me to identify the gear) reminds me of Gandy's immortal line: "Knowledge of camera equipment is the sign of a misspent youth."

Ah... the wise man... 🙂

I've checked the numbers, and they are not missed (stolen).
For me that is the largest danger when buying on such a market.
First time it is send to leica (CLA, repair) you've lost it again.

Still wonder where someone gets so many beauties???

you could probably trade all those in for a brand new Rebel
I had to laugh out loud when I read your statement, as it fits your avatar photo so well! 😀

Maybe an estate sale... or someone disposing of an old personal collection to buy a brand new Rebel? (still chuckling, sorry)
