I've been looking around for a Leitz focomat v35. I found a seller, but he wants to sell both his v35 (w/40 lens) and 1c (w/50 lens) together rather than separate. He wants $600 US for both. He is a professional photographer and says they are both in working order with negative carriers. I'm reaching out to you all to see if you think this is reasonable. It seems a reasonable proce to me, but these seem to fluctuate quite a bit.
Thanks for the help,
Chris

A shop in Houston has 1 of each for more than $600 each. I suggest you jump on this deal. Sell the one you don't want and get the one you do want for free.

Thanks, I may just have to do that. In any event, it will give me an opportunity to try both out to see which I prefer.

I just bought a used Focomat V35 with color head for $600.00 Cdn. When these were still available for sale in stores here, they were selling for $2200.00 Cdn. From everything I've ever read, this is supposed to be the Rolls Royce of 35mm enlargers. Its certainly well built and I'm looking forward to putting it to use next winter. Many years ago I bought a Leitz 1a used for $350.00 Cdn. It was almost 50 years old at the time, and it gave me very nice enlargements. There is something about a Leitz lens that defies description - prints have a smoothness that takes my breath away. I'm a pretty good printer (learned how in university) and I'm very excited to be going back into the dark. I'd advise you to buy these enlargers, sell one and use the other.

In fact, it might be a ridiculous price. Jump on it.

Check ebay for completed auctions to get an idea of prices.
A black 1c should cost considerable less around $100. But if it is a gray version with focotar-2 it will be considerable more like $1000. Also an AN filter will increase the price.
The V35 goes from $200 to $1200 including colorhead and focometer.
You should also check which head the V35 has. The plain one, the color one or the B&W multigrade one.
Cheers,
