Checking Rangefinder Focus
Checking Rangefinder Focus
Have a Minolta CLE and a few Canon rangefinder models most of which I purchased on ebay needing repair. Tonight I was checking the rangefinder on the CLE using a tripod and a chart for close focus ~ 2 meters. There are a variety of lines and designs on my chart with varying thickness of the width of the lines. I decided that the illumination was not good enough for the finer lines so I decided to use a laser to illuminate the chart. Well, after thinking about this, why wouldn't the laser point be quick point at any distance to check the rangefinder camera focus accuracy. It made focus easier on the CLE for me. I don't think the reflected image will hurt the eyes. So I am adding this to my "tool kit" for checking my camera's rangefinders out and making adjustments to the image. The bright red dot works.
