I would like to get a lens hood for my QL17. I think it has 47mm threads but not sure about that. Any sources?
The filter thread is 48mm, but there is an 'official' hood, I'll post a pic.
It has a cutout so as not to block the view.

I was always partial to this one, but I could never find the correct part on eBay.

I was given a Canonet lens hood by a RFF member. I didn't like it. It still blocked too much of the VF for my liking. After Phil got a Canonet I gave it back to him. I've not had any problem with glare but did see someone using the rubber type circular lens hoods on their Canonet that looked far better than the Canon bakelite lens hood.

With an odd ball size like 48mm I would buy a 48mm to 49mm step up filter adapter and then buy a round metal hood in 49mm for 'normal' lenses. You should be able to get both off of ebay for about $10
This is what I did for my Olympus 35RC with its rare 43.5mm thread size. I use a 43.5 to 43mm step down ring and metal hood. This is a much more common size than 43.5mm.

I use the same 48/49mm step ring with the straight hood from a Minolta himatic E.
I have found the flared rubber hoods I own block the RF window and patch as well as the VF.
