lensmate thumb thing...

Loved the lensmate thumb grip on my X100 as it gave more grip and prevented me from inadvertedly moving the exposure compensation dial.

I definitely need one for the X20 as it feels too small in my hand (and I have small hands), but they are still working on it.

Are there any (cheaper) alternatives for the X10/20?

I tried the thumbgrip from HorusBennu but it blocks the mode dial and rubs against it and is fixed with a wormscrew that might damage the main hotshoe contact.

yeh, it took me about a week to get my thumb over there by nature, but now I like it a lot (on my x100).
I haven't used a flash in years, but they should design a hot shoe thing into that thumbrest as well.

I wonder if there are any thumb grips out there for the NEX6/7, or has anyone tried fitting a certain one onto those bodies? Seems like there's a world of grips for the fuji X cameras, but none for Sony :(

I just ordered this yesterday from PopFlash:

THUMBS UP EP-7S BLACK GRIP KIT WITH ABRAHAMSSON BLACK MINI SOFT RELEASE

I had this on my X100 and X-Pro1 (the first one) and I'd have to say it did make my grip more secure and stable. It helped to not accidentally change dial positions, too. This should be standard equipment, I think.

PopFlash shipped same day so maybe the package will show up today.

I think you'll like it, backalley.

well, i can't compare them to any other thumb thing but i now have 2 lensmates, one for the xp and one for the xe fujis.
and i like them!
i no longer keep hitting the 'q' button, i no longer have a thumb restless and searching for it's place in the world!

i did have some problems fitting the newly designed one onto the xe1 but after a brief email conversation lensmate is sending me a new one and that should solve the problem.

the big question i have now is...why do manufactures not design them on to the original body in the first place?

What is off about it? Lensmate is sending me one, I hope it fits!

These are great products and I'd go as far as to say that fitting one transformed my X100. I was always moving the exposure compensation dial by accident because it doesn't have an effective detent. Lensmates are nicely packaged too, if you care about such things. TW

Has anyone the original Lensmate Thumb Grip for the X100, the one that wraps around the exposure compensation dial?

And if so, is anyone willing to part with it?

Never! It so useful: I never would own a X100 without it.
