Just a quick note to anyone who has been thinking about buying one of these lensmate/thumbs up thumb rests for their xe/xp fuji, do it.
I just received the lens mate version today and I have to say it improves the already superb handling of the camera immeasurably. Despite being under half the price of the thumbs up one, its beautifully made as well.

i agree completely!!
makes a world of difference in the handling, makes one handed shooting easier and stops me from hitting that q button.

Thanks for the heads-up Gavin. I've just ordered one, plus one of their slotted lens hoods which are ideal if you use a polariser

Grrr, you just made me spend money!
Been meaning to buy one for a while now but couldn't decide between this and the Thumbs Up. Calculating the price difference + the testimonies on here made my mind up which one.
I can get a Thumbs Up in the UK for £109 + £7 P&P = £116
Lensmate = $72.58 inc P&P to UK which = £48. No brainer really once I did the calcs though I'm sure the Thumbs Up is a superb product obviously.
Will go back for another one for my black X100 if I get on with this one, which I'm sure I will.

Well, got my lensmate and it's a very well machined bit of kit I must say.
The only thing is I'm finding it a bit too lose in the hotshoe and it's already come most of the way out a few times on my first day's use & would be an expensive loss if it fell out all the way, wish it still had the screw in it to secure it but I guess a sticky fixer pad will do the trick.

I ordered one made by fotodiox

Hope this one is of quality material. Unsure, but it was only $15 via Amazon. They do have an excellent return policy, so I'll update once I receive it.
Loving the X-Pro1.

Interesting to hear the positive comments on these. I was a Thumbs Up user on my M8 and M9 and had thought about getting one for my XPro but was concerned that it may get in the way of some of the rear buttons. If this isn't the case I may well get one as I've always found them to be a boon - though the cheaper option makes a lot of sense at that price.

Does anyone use one of these and also use the rear AF button whilst in manual mode? I tend to use mine in this manner and its easy peasey whilst your thumb rests on the inbuilt thumb bump but does the Lensmate help or hinder this in any way?

All buttons remain accessible - no problem there!

Looks nice but why are these blasted things os expensive? I have been trying to get one for my M8 -well over $100 for a bit of bent metal is a bit rich I think no matter how nice they are and how functional. OK the Lensmate ones are somewhat less but still quite a lot for what they are. Yours looks very nice incidentally.

Finally at home...
Does that also make sense for the X-E1?

Thanks minimoke, think thats just sold another one.
Peter, I couldn't agree more re the price hence my looking at the cheaper option. I'm sure the Thumbs Up ones are as expensive due to the fancy yet unnecessary packaging.
They do make a big difference though, so long as you get on with them

I bought two of the Fotodiox thumb rests for my X Pro 1 cameras. The first was so tight i had problems getting it into the shoe. The second was so loose I knew it was going to slide out. I messed with both of them and got them adjusted properly. I then put a few layers of foam between the body and the thumb rest in order to take some pressure off of the shoe itself. Now it's all good.

I have the lensmate on both X-Pro 1 and x100s. They rule.

I'm the same too. They do improve handling. I had the Horus Bennu version on the Fuji X10 and that was good too.

Totally agree, OK so they are nicely made but maybe too elaborate.
I ended up buying a £5 cheapo one from China for my X100 and to be perfectly honest it suits me better than the Lensmate on my X-Pro 1. And unlike the new Lensmate I can tighten the cheap £5 one with an allen key to stop it coming out.
YMMV.
