Let's do it!

A absolutely wonderful beautiful thing happened here. Juan, I am so impressed and pleased that you came up with this idea. You are very thoughtful and generous. Keith, I am excited for you and I hope you enjoy the X100 and I want to see some pictures as soon as you can put some on. Have fun with it. Jim

Thanks for your sweet words, Jim...

On one of the concurred threads on the X100 we've all visited so many times feeling in and out for it, someone told Keith he should just receive an X100 as a gift to see how great the camera was going to be, so I just followed the good RFF vibes... I'm glad Keith felt the whole lotta love this great community has for him.

Cheers,

Juan

Dont' forget to order a spare battery!
A specially while visiting friends with no electricity.
Unlike "real camera's" this one needs battery's

A girl with no electricity home, is for sure a wonderful woman!

Just a warning: when Keith comes raving about the X100, let's take it with a pinch of salt because he'll have personal emotions on the camera... ;)

That was for sure a (stupid) joke... I'm 100% sure the X100 is a marvelous camera.

Cheers,

Juan

Didn't see this thread until this afternoon (GMT +1) but it made my day. Congrats to all of you who contributed. Personally, I don't use PayPal, as I never felt the need for it, until today!

Of course I could open an account, but since it looks like the flash money has already reached the requiered amount, I'm afraid that'd be a little overkill.

On the other hand, I could open one and ask all of you for a small donation to buy Juan a double magnum of cava or a good Speyside . But I'll definitely buy him some beers if we ever meet (both living in Barcelona, and yes Juan, I also was there at the Winogrand exhibition opening :)).

Oh, before I forget, congrats to St. Keith for having so much devotees.

I've seen no evidence of Keith's sainthood, but anybody that shoots nudes, self portraits and the occasional free ranging chicken in the wilds of Australia is o.k. by me! ;)

I always thought that Keith was actually Crocodile Dundee ! Not sure he is ready for sainthood but I'm sure he's ready for the X100.
After we have raised enough for the camera and a cool strap the rest should be spent on some nice candles and wine :)
Juan your a bloody legend for organizing this:angel:

Hi, thanks for your invitation, but in general I have no free time these days...

Wait, did you say beer?

Oh, I have lots of free time every day... :D

Cheers,

Juan

Pity we didn't meet at the Colectania, but it was far too crowded anyway. But some mineral water with "hop" extract, always welcome!
And if you're busy working, we can always call it a business meet. :D

Cool... If you agree to call my wet printing "a job", by experience I've learned on real busy days those mineral water business meetings seem to be quite helpful for getting energy to continue working... So please PM me one of these days when you feel in the mood for some extra energy...

Cheers,

Juan

I think there is sufficient for the Body, tough a nice strap was suggested and a spare battery is always helpful for when he's staying at his GF ;-)

I may regard him as a saint if he took a nude self portrait with a chicken in the outback :D

But then, on second thoughts, maybe not

STOP

7.30pm Sunday night ... PayPal balance: $1,302.59 AUD

Wow ... probably enough to get some decent SDHC memory cards seeing as I included all my SD cards with my M8 when I sold it to Avotius a while ago! I actually didn't think I'd ever need them again as my Nikon takes CF. I have a Deluxe Luigi strap in dark tan that will probably look ok with the Fuji ... maybe a slight colour clash but not too bad surely! :D

I'm still reeling a little from all this and when I was trying to explain it to Carol last night her reaction was ... "Who's paying for this new Fuji camera that you told me you didn't need any more last week? Why are they doing this?" :D

I had actually talked myself out of this camera and convinced myself that it wasn't just beause I couldn't afford it ... I didn't really want or need it! Total BS obviously because I can't wait to get my hands on it! :p

This needs to happen to other more deserving souls on this forum occasionally ... there's no reason why we can't do this once or twice a year and I would love to be involved in the other side of the equation. Even in the hardest times I would always manage to find ten dollars to be able to make someone feel as over awed as I do at the moment. :)

I think this sums up how I feel:

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
