I love this thread. The well used cameras look awesome. The mint cameras look awesome. Everything in between looks awesome. Same holds true for the lenses of course.

That's the best outlook I've heard on this thread so far. No need to search for the one ULTIMATE look, everything here has been awesome.

It was included when I bought it, according to the seller it is the standard strap which originally came with the M4-P. I have no idea if this is true or not. It looks pretty, but it actually has two plastic bits that will wreak scratch havoc on the edges of the camera.
Either way, the two straps are the perfect length so that the cameras sit just on top of each other.
Thanks.

... likes film again.
It is indeed the original Leitz neck-strap of the M4-P.
It has two hooks to go into the strap lugs, quite secure and easy to remove. A little bit short but works well in such a kind of "double set-up" when carrying two cameras at once.

Thanks for the confirmation.
Leica in my opinion have had the WORST designed straps of any camera. The early M4-P strap has plastic parts right where it rubs on the camera, and even the new straps have the same plastic parts which scratch the camera on it's edges. Their answer to it was adding silly bits of plastic on the new bodies? Why not fix the straps? The straps that come with Voigtlanders are leagues ahead of these silly Leica straps.

I have upstraps on all my other cameras but like the standard strap on the M8 as its quick to change the length from carrying around the neck or diagonal across body, but would like to change it if there was something similar.

I don't love the Leica straps themselves (not long enough IMO), but I do love the fancy D-ring design that you thread onto the lug like solving a puzzle. It's very elegant, IMO, except that sometimes I don't want to solve a puzzle.

Yes all the way, I really come to fancy them, btw they are a bit different:
on the Millenium the genuine M-mount, on the conversion the genuine LTM and a convertible,
wasn't that your collection as well Huub?

Yes, exactly. I love these 2.8 versions! Unbelievable build! Super optical quality and pretty resistant to flare. I've had five in total and none of them showed the slightest haze after all these decades. Together with their contemporary 35 and 50 Summicron's Leica's best ever build lenses. The 3.5 LTM version is very nice too. Small and hefty sturdiness. I still have one for sale...
