Just rest your thumb on the lever advance. The thumbs-up accessory was invented because digital M's don't have a lever advance.
Somehow to me, this looks like this combo should be against the law. Just saying.
nice strap, where did you get that from?
Bob; said:Helen, according to Chester Sartorius "Identifying Leica Cameras" you have a
"very rare camera" (RR). It falls in a range of M4 Black Chrome produced in Canada SN 1381651-1382600 (1974). Yours looks to be SN 1382596 (?) which is the 4th to the very last of that batch of Black Chrome Canadian Leica Cameras. WOW 🙂
I have only seen one other from this batch in all of my 42 years of collecting and using Leica Cameras.
BTW---I have her sister SN 1381846. I purchased it in 1980. It is LN in the org. box with all the org. papers.
I know you like to trade (buy and sell) Leica cameras and lenses, but this is one Leica you should hold on to. Please don't sell her. I don't know where you found her, but a rare find indeed !.
I know you are proud of her, and are anxious to take great pictures. There is a great picture yet to be taken in your new beauty. Enjoy 😉
