That's a handsome combination, the user M2 with a 35/3.5 Summaron. How do you like it? Wonderful how compact it is.

hi Frank,
it's actually an Industar 22. you can kinda see the arrow logo on the lens cap. I quite like it. sharp enough, tiny. the aperture ring is a little fiddly though.
I did a little series of my jazz band at Musicfest a year ago with that combo. fun times. now that I have a faster lens, I'm not sure how I survived with 3.5... but somehow, it worked.

Im hoping to someday get a digital M...but saving and still learning so not in a rush
I've put three rolls through the M2. 1 tri-x 400 and 2 ilford Hp5+ 400s. developed 2 of the rolls, and very happy with the results (especially considering the first roll was meterless) but need to get the scanner to get them up. I now use the VC II meter.
I did use a Canon 10x loupe magnifyer, and shot a photo through it with an iphone 4 of some of my negatives. Then used an iphone app to convert it from negative to B&W. Quality is BAD, but not as bad as i would think considering lol. It gave me an idea at least, and im excited to scan my actual negatives next month. (link to photo in signature)

I love my Bug Eyes
my recently purchased M4-P with 35 Summicron.....I bought this camera because after 56 years I found I needed glasses and my M3 framelines suddenly seemed a little tight. This is a great combination for my tired old eyes

Since the M3 does not have a frame line for 35mm lenses Leica produced lenses like this with "bug eyes " which are corrective lenses that show the 35mm view in the 50mm frame lines. On my M4-P which has a frame line for a 35mm lens it still brings up the 50mm frame line and while I have had no direct comparison I consider this to be my econo version of what the .58 viewfinder would be like. As for dimness I find it to have no noticeable difference to me when I am using it (maybe I am just used to it) It seems like a lens that does not get a lot of respect but methinks most of the people that don't like it have never tried one
(Leica knew what they were doing)

i used to rock a goggled 35mm 2.8 Summaron and i though it was great in every way except for weight. it is one heavy lens.

Gabor, whoa! The skin is bright! No wonder you need glasses. Surprised they're not tinted to match. What color are using to replace that covering? I'm not sure how I'd feel with one that loud as my main user, but I gotta admit it does look cool.
Newest addition, waiting for the correct covering ...![]()

The color I wanted is griptack in black like my other cameras. This red color here ... Well, my wife keeps 10m distance to me today and pretends not to know me ...
