Let's see your Leica M

omg, omg, can anybody support me with nice and big camera porn shot of chrome M5? I saw today one at gear swap and I my GAS is gargantuic.

Wow...I have so far read about 150 pages of this thread. DAMN!!!! I haven't taken pics of the cameras really, but here is one

Yes, I guess it's a complete rebuild with an M4 top plate and M2 rewind lever. The body case looks M4-P, at least the screws are, but the frame selector lever was left out. It must have a new skin to cover the FS hole, but it's amazingly similar to original vulcanite. Great looking camera!

Chris, tell us about it.
And no lettering!

Wow!

I got completely out of film M's a few years ago when I had a canon craze. Here are some of the fun cameras and lenses I used to own. I recently picked up an M8.2 and I am very fond of it.

M6 ttl w/50 bp summilux and Leicavit M (I only actually owned 1 'vit M I just phottographed it a lot)

Her's one I shouldn't have gotten rid of (again with 'vit M) :p
and 35mm Summicron ver. 3
- 1955 M3 mechanism and top plate, converted from DS to SS.
- M4-2 shell and winder spool.
- Don Goldberg modified to take M6 winder and replaced viewfinder with an M2 35/50/90.
- Repainted black enamel by Shintaro Yaginuma in Japan

Thanks, but I'm not that skilled!

Isnt it just PS?

Well ... ... not exactly.

Most of the mods to my stock M4-P are real: the letters are covered with painted auto-body filler and the R is colored with a red sharpie. I took the lever off a while ago since I only have the one lens. But I admit, I covered the hole with PSed vulcanite. There is really a small piece of black tape over the hole, but if I can find a small piece of vulcanite, then I'll plug it with that.

I just think it makes for a much prettier camera without all the markings and a vestigial control. This is my Cal-look Leica. And it's still a daily carry.

There is a Brian Blake exhibition currently on in Auckland, New Zealand. Brain, a New Zealander, is a now deceased magnum photographer for those who don't know him. He worked mainly in Asia but also in parts of the middle east from the 1960's onwards. He shot everything with a M3+50mm and M2+35mm.

Here is his black M2. The M3 in chrome was there as well, but there's nothing like seeing what a well used camera should look like. So here is a shot of it for the admirers ;)
