Let's see your Leica M

Looks like the secondary slotted battery cover, that comes with Leica MPs.
You might be able, to buy them separately from Leica (some people have difficulties, to open the standard covers after a while).

No way man!!

Dirty business - selling my 50 Lux ASPH for a Konica Hexanon Dual 21-35 f3.4-4 and some …

You gave the 50 lex ASPH.?? So how did the store pay for it, was it a good price?

I bought it as my first permanent lens for the Leica M system two years ago.
It has been the lens, that stunned me about the Leica lens quality and made me sell almost all my Nikon gear, while building a nice Leica kit.

It has been my favorite lens back then on BW film and the EPSON R-D1.

Over the last year or more, I didn't use this lens (right after it came back from a full CLA @ Leica Solms).
I bought a Noctilux f1, when the Lux ASPH was away and fell in love ;-)

The ASPH never had been touched since.

I bought mine, before the world knew about the Leica M9 for 16000¥ and sold it last week for 23000¥.
The shop will probably sell it for 26 − 28000¥ I guess.

I never liked the focus feel of the 50 Lux ASPH and consider it a design flaw - the optics though are exceptional!

I am very happy with the deal so far. It looks, the Konica might spark a love for wide angle lenses ;-)

Great stuff! I love this thread! :)

Once again, my M3 with Morgans black lizard skin. This time with old rigid summicron.

:):):)

I've had some great ones over the years. The black M3 with the gold lens was painted and re-skinned by the group in the UK who specializes in this work. It had a hammertone finish. The M6 pandas were M6 bodies with titanium tops and base plates. I still have the gold camera. It was a gift and will be with me until the end.

Leica M2 in Green

Leica M2 in Green

I had always wanted an M2. I walked into a camera shop and saw this one with the vulcanite falling off. I bought it. I replaced the vulcanite with this green covering. I slapped on a 50mm Elmar and an Artisan and Artist strap. I think it's a beauty now.

After some month without much Voigtlander stock i Tokyo shops and Japanese online dealers, now finally the situation appear to be changing.

The long out of stock LH-6 hood (for my 35mm/f1.4SC) finally surfaced a few weeks ago, and last week the Ultron 28mm f2 started appearing.
I feel like I have waited forever for this lens.
Not much to report yet but the feel, heft and operation induces confidence - it seems very very well made - (slightly) better than the Nocton 35mm F1.4 SC, the VC 21mm and VC 12mm I also own. Can't wait to see the results.

If I'm not mistaken you fixed something in addition to the RRS plate as well right?

@Photon42: the L-plate is a 3rd-party bottom plate from Really Right Stuff, it grips the body much better than the original plate, I used this on my M8

The skin? He said Morgan, which I would hesitate a guess is Morgan Sparks of Cameraleather.com

Quite beautiful that black lizard skin. Indeed, all skins I've ordered from Morgan, though not the black lizard yet, have been top notch.

Thank you all! :)

Sorry, guys that it was not clear. I bought the leather from Cameraleather.

I bought a few other leathers there and they were always just great!

But this M3 with the lizard skin has an extremely nice leather texture. The others are also good, but not THAT great!

I love the leather. Although I waited a very long time for it.

The M3 was in service at Solms a few years ago and is working like new. It's so fun to use it. But I wished, mine was in worse condition outside. Sometimes I am afraid of getting scratches in it. Wished it had some more...
